In the CES/Portugal EQUI-X’s National Campaigns were involved an average of 50 young people and was carried out in two waves:
The first wave was held in two schools, and it was completely carried out by the students: Infanta D. Maria Secondary School, and in Pombal Secondary School.
In the campaign carried out in Infanta D. Maria Secondary School in Coimbra we had two actions: On the 1st Action, there were posters spread all over the school, videos on Gender equality/inequality; boxes with the following message written on the cover: “Do you want to get out of the box? Open me” and containing inside them postcards/cards with equality messages;; Origamis and colourful papers with equality messages; a picture with drawings where the students wrote: “Gender Equality”; the students also created a video that was being shown in that room and designed an online game of gender equality questions, where gender equality questions would appear and the audience would answer through their mobile phones to earn points for the right answers, until the final winner was found.
The 2nd Action took place on the occasion of the event “It’s your turn; use your voice”, held at Bissaya Barreto on May 24th. There was a stand with the same posters, phrases, postcards and Origamis. There was the same boxes “Do you want to leave the box? Open me”, containing postcards/cards with the same equality messages. 6 students were present, who explained the work done and what the campaign meant and what it was presenting.
In the campaign carried out in Pombal Secondary School, on June 13th 2019, we had posters scattered throughout the school with the sentences and themes decided, they set up a stand with the same posters; They made 3 different bracelets to offer to the school population with 3 sentences (with the hastag created to go national level):
Fun Has No Gender;
- #(In)equality Be proud of what you are;
- #(In)equality No always means No!.
They made two videos, which passed uninterruptedly on the giant screen of the main atrium of the School (two videos were also launched National wide, on the Instagram page.
The second wave of the campaign was national wide:
We’ve made a page of Instagram @_.des_igualdade._ (https://www.instagram.com/p/ByoMUVOlTDw/?igshid=16fwqao2d659p) fed with photos, videos and messages;
We’ve created the hastag #desIGUALDADE to accompany the publications.
We’ve made t-shirts and gifts (bags for glasses and bags for mobile phones) that we distributed in the schools – teachers, students and general public – not only in which we implemented the project, but schools at national level).
